The Digital Disruption of Supply Chain and Logistics

How are supply chain and logistics changing under the influence of digital technologies and where is this journey taking us? Why is the digital revolution happening now and what are the forces driving its expansion? These are the questions we answer on day 1 of our immersion program “The Future Of Supply Chain and Logistics”
We explain how startups have capitalized on industry trends, new technologies and the ready availability of venture funding to create companies pioneering disruptive innovations. We visit companies such as: Noodle.ai, an enterprise artificial intelligence company focused on customer, product and enterprise operations; Elementum, a developer of apps that streamline procurement, logistics and manufacturing; and Fetch Robotics, a maker of collaborative autonomous mobile robots for warehousing and logistics. Other possible participating companies: CheetahNarvarSpecrightClearMetalNabis

Day 2

Exploring Market Niches

The journey continues on day two with an exploration of the limits of the disruption to the logistics and supply chain sector as they exist today. How many areas are seeing radical change? What is the nature of this change and how fast is it moving? We answer these questions through visits to startups operating in a wide range of niches. Day 3

Emerging Technologies

Day three of the immersion program is dedicated to the technologies fueling the disruption of the logistics and supply chain space. We hear from experts in artificial intelligence, internet of thingsrobotics and big data analytics to learn what these technologies can currently do and what they will offer in the future. We visit companies such as Foxtrot Systems, an automated last-mile fleet management ecosystem, ShipChaina blockchain-powered logistics and freight platform, and DeepVu, a deep-learning service for optimizing supply chains. Day 4

Corporate Innovation for Supply Chain and Logistics

Having seen and heard how digital is disrupting supply chain and logistics on days 1 to 3, on day 4 of our immersion program we challenge attendees to turn words into action. Participatory workshops with leading Silicon Valley experts on design thinkingdesign sprintsventure capital and open innovation provide executives with the blueprints and frameworks they need to deliver innovation within their own organization.

We analyze how traditional manufacturers and retailers are adapting their supply chain and logistics operations for digital and survey their success in collaborating with the startup ecosystem. We visit companies such as: Jabil and ULlegacy manufactures on the digital transformation journey; and Angel SV, a seed fund and one of the biggest venture investors in supply chain technology companies. Other potential meetings include the big tech companies such as AmazonGoogleApple and Oracle to see what role they are playing in the digital disruption of logistics and supply chain, and learn how they maintain cultures of continuous innovation.

Day 5

The Future of Supply Chain and Logistics

What’s next for the digital disruption of supply chain and logistics? Day 5 brings the program to a close with its sights firmly set on the future. We learn about trends still in their infancy and meet the companies seeking to capitalize on those trends. Possible visits include: Roambee, an IoT-on-demand service to track shipments and their condition in real-time; LevData, a platform that combines market intelligence and enterprise data with artificial intelligence to help organizations make sourcing decisions; and Flexport, a global freight forwarder and logistics platform. As customer expectations continue to rise we ask what the trend for personalization means for the supply chain and logistics business.  How will supply chains become faster, more flexible and more precise to meet these new requirements?
